The European Development Fund (EDF) concerns EU cooperation with African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries governed by the Cotonou Agreement. It translates into a National Indicative Program (NIP) validated by the EU and Congo every seven years. The 11th EDF started in 2014, its implementation in the Republic of Congo is still in progress. The NIP in the Republic of Congo covers three components: 1. Governance economic and commercial, 2. Local development, 3. Forest governance.
The overall objective of this intervention is to improvr ownership and sustainability of EDF aid in the Republic of Congo, by
1) Improving the operation and performance of the Department of Partnership with the European Union (DPEU)
2) Support the General Directorate of Partnership for Development (DGPAD) in the transition between the ending programming cycle and the next one, in pending of validation.
