The Global objective of this initiative was to contribute to the Survey on the Health and Status of a Woman in the Family in Turkmenistan initiated by the Government of Turkmenistan and supported by UNFPA and EU. The survey was to yield data in such a sensitive and at the same time very important area of gender-based violence. The collected data were to suggest needed actions and policies to address violence against women that are in line with EU’s efforts and commitments to end such violence and raise awareness about negative consequences of gender-based violence.
