Objective: The 2007 ‘EU and central Asia: strategy for a new partnership’ has identified the Rule of law as one of the priority areas for EU–central Asian cooperation. On this basis, the rule of law initiative, launched in 2008, aims at stepping up the policy dialogue between the EU and CA partners on priority themes identified jointly at joint ministerial conferences where a common cooperation agenda is endorsed and at setting up a coordination mechanism among EU institutions and Member States to further support the ongoing modernization of the legal and judicial sector in central Asia
The rule of law platform project was established to support mechanisms for achieving the objectives and implementing the actions agreed within the rule of law initiative. The specific objective of the rule of law platform project is to provide the services required to ensure organizations of actions/events foreseen in the implementation of the EU rule of law initiative. The activities to be undertaken will be based on expertise and experience of the EU Member States’ legal bodies as well as with other organizations in Europe.

The overall objective of this contract is to support the Central Asia partners with core legal and judicial reforms, contributing towards the development of a stable and democratic political framework, functioning of economic structures and promotion respect of human rights, as called for by the Central Asia (CA) EU Strategy.
The purpose of this contract is to provide services required to ensure smooth progress on the implementation of the EU Rule of Law Initiative supporting its objectives and activities as agreed between the EU and the Central Asian partners
