The specific objective of this mission was to provide a thorough GEWE analysis and updated on the important changes and trends since the last gender report. It pinpointed main problems and bottlenecks along with their causes in different aspects of gender, examined what Chinese government and other development partners have done to address these challenges (and what was probably left short), and proposed possible EU intervention in light of the needs on the ground in China, the priorities in GAP II, and the operational focus of EU development cooperation with China.
