Altair takes part in European Day of Languages and the National Day of Spain celebrations in Yangon

On 4 October, Altair took part in the European Day of Languages, held at the Institut Français in Yangon together with the British Council and other European embassies and cultural institutes. Under the slogan “Speak, Connect & Achieve”, the event included workshops and games, and provided information on training programmes and scholarships. As part of the project led by Altair in Myanmar, the EU Delegation set up an information stand where many young people from Myanmar learned about Erasmus scholarships and other opportunities to study in Europe.

The following day, 5 October, Altair attended the Hispanic Day reception hosted by the Embassy of Spain in Myanmar at the Ohmar Gallery in Yangon, alongside representatives of Myanmar society, international institutions such as the Delegation of the European Union and the Embassies of Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and organisations working in the country, including the Red Cross and UNDP.

The reception was hosted by Ms Cristina Conesa Sancho, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Spain in Myanmar. Guests were able to view some pieces from the exhibition Her Work, Her Worth, organised by the Embassy, which brings together women from Spain and Myanmar united by a shared professional vocation. Each reflects on her motivations, the meaning of her work and her contribution to society.
